Nature's Purpose

What have we lost touch with?

In our busy lives, we restrict ourselves to work, school, and little play - in our adult lives that play, if not tossed away to finish errands, has often succumbed to wastefully spending away time looking at a screen.

Through social media influence, consumption, and with the busyness of life, we have lost touch with our connection to nature and the stewardship that comes with it.

What activities promote reconnection?

I find that the best way to reconnect with nature is by taking the things you like to do and finding a way to incorporate nature or being outside into them.

Whether it is a craft, eating a meal, sipping on a cup of coffee, or simply working on homework, adding nature into your routine can reconnect you with nature seamlessly.

Why is nature connection important?

Connecting with nature impacts the brain and body in countless factors; it relieves stress, regulates the circadian rhythm, it affects your mood and metabolism, creates a sense of belonging in the world, and more.

Connecting with nature also brings you to care more about it. Repetitive exposure builds familiarity and with familiarity comes curiosity. The more you notice outside, the more you start to care, and from there you may want to learn more. This is where the connection honestly begins.

Can I join your community?

Yes! I welcome everyone interested in reconnecting with nature and learning about sustainability to join our community. Scroll down to the "Get in Touch" section to send a message.

How can I support your mission?

Great question. The easiest way to support my mission is to be mindful about the time you spend in nature. If you want to do more, you can read or share a blog, try out a listed craft, or leave a message, but remember that simply living out the mission is enough.

Do you offer resources for learning?

Absolutely! I offer blog posts which can be accessed at the top right corner of this page. From there you can access content on sustainable living, DIY's and crafts, plant identification, volunteer opportunities, and more!
